I named this one after my great grandmother, who was also a glamorous redhead.

Girl With Umbrella

This one was sort of a fun experiment. Maybe my brightest painting to date?

Raquel

About seven years ago I met this beautiful, intriguing girl named Raquel. She, too, is a painter. I wanted to paint her portrait, but I was too shy to ask.

Well I finally asked.

Dreaming

I love dreaming. I have the weirdest dreams, but they are usually a good weird.

My Scrap Book Cover

I finally got around to collaging the cover of my scrapbook. It was a lot of fun and I have to admit, I'm pretty pleased. You likey?

Wind In My Hair

I whipped this one up today while listening to cheesy (and I mean cheesy) '80s bands. Hey, some one's got to listen to A-ha and Real Life...

Self-Portrait (Dream Boldly)

My second novel is finished, all five drafts of it. Now comes the scary part--trying to publish (gulp). Meanwhile I'm painting again. I've made it a goal to paint myself once a year. Well here it is. I had a lot of fun with this one, maybe too much fun.

The Future of Art

The future of art cannot be predicted, it can only be hoped about. We can only hope that artists will appear--otherwise art has no future.

Girl and Her Cat

I had a lot of fun doing this piece. I've always had a longtime love for cats, so naturally I painted one. He/She/It (the cat) actually looks a lot like one I had when I was seven named Orange Julius.

Buy My Prints!

People have been nagging me and nagging me about making prints of my work available. Well I'm finally caving in. Whether you're interested in something as simple as a greeting card or something more extravagant like a full-blown image on canvas--matted and framed even--well you're in luck.

Sometimes

Sometimes I feel like balancing art and writing is like juggling two jealous boyfriends.

I've been writing a lot lately, but Spring is around the corner (painting in dark and dreary winter is always tough for me) so I will be painting and posting soon.

Phenomenal Photography

My brother, Matthew, is an exceptional photographer. His prints blow me away. He spends half of every year working in Alaska, then takes the other half to explore and photograph our beautiful world. (He's been to 48 countries!!) Below are some of my favorites. See more (and buy a print or two to adorn your home) here: http://mattparry.imagekind.com/

PS Happy birthday Matt--to one of the best brothers a sister could ever even dream of!

Thinking of You

Why have I taken so long to post something, you ask? Well I'll have you know I've been quite busy writing a novel or two. When the muse comes and wants me to write rather than paint, I write. I never question the muse. But I haven't been neglecting my art all together. Here is my latest piece. I did another before it that I'll have to post later, as it has suffered from some wardrobe malfunctions. (Don't ask.)
