I love strong women and I love to paint them. I enjoyed adding stripes of blue to this painting to add interest. I also intentionally limited my color palette.
I'm behind on posting here, so pardon me while a take a few days to catch up.
I'm always experimenting and trying something a little outside the box. I think a little bit weird and a little bit edgy makes something otherwise ordinary more interesting.
I completed this painting of Frida Kahlo today. She's been a longtime hero of mine. Not only was she beautiful and talented but she had dignity and grace and overcame a lot of adversity. I know it's trendy for artists to paint her, but she was such a captivating woman so it makes sense that she's so popular.
